Launched on February 2nd, 2011, the Maruti Suzuki Kizashi is Maruti Udyog Ltd.’s foray into the premium car segment, and considering the fact that they didn’t got the response that was expected for their Grand Vitara, and even the sales figure of SX4 isn’t any good, the company this time have decided to limit the sale of their premium segment Kizashi. This is the reason why the Maruti Suzuki Kizashi has a Suzuki badge on its grilled, which means that the car has been imported in India as a completely assembled unit. This is why the expectation from the car is pretty much, and coincidentally, “Kizashi” means “a sign of good things to come.”
One another fact worth mentioning is the fact that the Maruti Suzuki Kizashi is a lot stronger than the other sedan’s of this class and is more solid and tougher than other Maruti’s cars. The Maruti Suzuki Kizashi will be powered by a 2.4 litre DOHC petrol engine under its hood. The engine will be generating maximum power of 178 PS @6500 rpm and 230 Nm of maximum torque @4000 rpm. The engine having 4 cylinder and 16 valve is a lot more responsive here and comes with 4 wheel drive options which can easily be switched on and off using the push button.
The interiors of the Maruti Suzuki Kizashi are really the best in its segment and an impressively elegant dashboard. The Kizashi is a huge car and hence has immense leg and head space. As far as the ride and handling for the car is considered, I will say that the performance of the car will blow your mind, despite being a huge car the Kizashi touches three figure on its speedometer pretty fast. The frontage of the car is just like the Swift and the immensely stylish tail-light of the car gives it a sporty look.
The Maruti Suzuki Kizashi will be rivaling Skoda Laura, Volkswagen Jetta and Honda City in Indian auto market. The price of the car goes towards the high end of the Maruti cars, but we’ll get the final verdict after testing the car in actual Indian driving condition. But whatever be the outcome of the testing of the car on Indian terrains, it will be interesting to see the car in Indian drive terrain. With Maruti Suzuki Kizashi, Maruti finally has entered the luxury car segment and if will be interesting to see the response that the car gets in market.
The Maruti Suzuki Kizashi comes loaded with advanced features such as cruise control, ESP (electronic stability program), EBD and Anti-lock braking system. Apart from these there are plenty of other appealing features in the car as well, and all these features makes the Kizashi a potent luxury car.
